The power of music is immeasurable, but I try to grab pieces of it and explain how they affect me.

Record Store Day
Tomorrow is Record Store Day and while I probably won't be out at any record stores this weekend (too much going on), I do want to take a moment to support the entire thing. Record Store Day isn't just about vinyl, but let's be honest, that's the main thing. And seriously, it should be. We can argue all day about whether vinyl sounds better than CD's or not, and it's ultimately subjective. But what isn't subjective is that vinyl just feels special. And that's the key word: feels. Taking an album out of paper and cardboard sleeves, cleaning it, placing it on a turntable and then gently dropping the needle and hearing that initial little pop as it lands and then, the magic of hearing the music with a few snaps and crackles, but somehow warmer and deeper than any hi def CD or other digital loss-less and maybe even more "perfect" version you've ever heard, as if you're hearing it inside your soul, that's just not the same as putting on the next number on a digital device. So, I guess what I'm saying, yeah, of course vinyl is fucking better. But either, way, go out to whatever your local store is tomorrow, and hopefully your lucky to have a good one like Radio-Active Records. Support them and support music and local businesses.
